The Prickly Pear 4-H club has been around for a long time, first established in 1989. This Lewis & Clark County 4-H club has been proudly serving our community and developing youth into great leaders.
Kids advance through 4-H as they do through their school years. In the past three years, many Prickly Pear club members graduated from high school, so our current makeup consists of a nice mix of elementary, middle, and high school students.
Prickly Pear 4-H membership expectations
To be an active participant in the Prickly Pear 4-H club, we have several expectations of club members:
- All club members are required to present a demonstration during our annual Club Demonstration Day, or at one of the monthly club meetings.
- All club members must complete their project worksheets each year and maintain their Record Book.
- Club members are expected to attend monthly meetings, participate in club events, fundraisers and activities, and also exhibit their projects or livestock at the Lewis & Clark County Fair.
- Active, vibrant 4-H clubs also depend on the support of parents, leaders, mentors, and families. Without volunteers, we can’t make this happen. All 4-H families are asked to provide treats for one of the monthly club meetings.
